Wasim Akram Appointed Ambassador for Pakistan Polio Eradication Program

On World Polio Day, former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, has been appointed as the Ambassador for Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme.

Wasim signed an agreement with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, Dr. Zafar Mirza, earlier today as he pledged to put all his efforts towards eradicating polio from Pakistan.

Two drops of anti-polio vaccine are the only source of prevention. Let’s pledge to make this country polio-free. Success against polio will be ours.

The legendary cricketer added that everyone should give their combined best to root out the crippling disease.

All political parties should play their role in ending polio as all children have the right to be protected from the virus.

World Polio Day is celebrated every year on 24th October to pay tribute to Jonas Salk, who, along with his team, developed the first-ever polio vaccine.
