MIUI 11 is Getting New Student-Focused Features

Xiaomi’s latest iteration of its custom Android skin MIUI 11 is being rolled out to more devices every day. At the same time, the Chinese phone maker is also working on adding more features to it. A new update is reportedly in the works which will bring three student-focused features.

Focus Mode

One of the trending Android features is digital wellbeing. Something similar is being introduced by Xiaomi, called the focus mode.

Users (mostly students) will be able to restrict themselves from using the smartphone. Focus mode can be turned on for up to 90 minutes. Once activated, the mode will shut off all features, only letting you make emergency calls or pictures.

Apart from this, the focus mode also logs the users’ data to keep them motivated. Focus mode’s settings can be found under ‘Screen time management’.

Custom Lock Screen

Previously, MIUI 11 brought a dynamic lock screen feature that was appreciated a lot by the consumers. Taking it up a notch, Xiaomi is now adding the ability to add custom images, screen patterns, customized text, and emojis to the lock screen.

This way, students will be able to glance at their schedules and other important information without unlocking their phones.

Class Schedule or Curriculum Mode

Last up is the class schedule feature that will be integrated into the Mi calendar. The calendar’s in-house Xiao AI will keep a track of all the important commitments including extra-curricular activities and class timings.

Currently, the update is in the testing phase and there is no word about when users will receive this update. Stay tuned for more news on the topic.
