Exports of Manufactured Leather Goods Grow by 10.41%

Exports of manufactured leather goods from Pakistan grew by 10.41% during the first quarter of current financial year as compared to exports of the corresponding period last year.

The exports during the period July-September 2019, rose to $131,407 million as compared to the exports of $119,018 million in same period of last year.

According the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the export of leather garments increased were by 11.48%. 322 TH.DOZ of leather garments valuing $75,107 million were exported as compared to the 234 TH.DOZ worth $67,375 million in the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, 1,438 TH.DOZ of leather gloves worth $53,669 million were also exported in first quarter of current financial year as compared to the exports of 1,287 TH.DOZ valuing $49,142 million in same period of last year.

During the period under review, other leather goods exports of the country also recorded positive growth of 5.20%. Other goods worth $2,631 million were exported as compared to the exports of $2,501 million in same period of last year.

Textile Exports

Textile exports from the country grew by 2.95% during the first quarter of the current financial year (1QFY20) as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of last year.

Textile products worth $3,371,974 million were exported during the July-September period, as compared to $3,275,303 million worth of exports exported in the same period last year.

Cutlery exports

The export of cutlery witnessed an increase of 18.66% during the first quarter of the current financial year (1QFY20) as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Pakistan exported cutlery worth $23.829 million during July-September 2019-20, as against the exports of $20.082 million during July-September 2018-19, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
