4th Generation Suzuki Swift to Get a Facelift

The 4th generation of the Suzuki Swift was introduced in December 2016 meaning that it will mark the 3rd year of production this month.

According to reports, the company is looking to unveil a facelift for the Swift in a bid to liven up the current generation which will see a few more years in production before being discontinued in favor of a new generation. It is believed that the company will showcase the new facelift early next year and will be rolled out for the Swift Sport followed by the other variants.

Current the Swift Sport has a 1.4 liter K14C engine coupled with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions along with FWD and AWD variants. For the regular variants, depending on the market, it has multiple engine options ranging from naturally aspirated, turbocharged and hybrid such as 1.0 liter Boosterjet turbo, 1.2 liter Dualjet and 1.3 liter Multijet.

Images of the new Swift hybrid went viral earlier this year with reports that Pak Suzuki was looking into introducing the 4th generation Swift in Pakistan. Currently, they are selling the 2nd generation here which was discontinued internationally in 2010.
