KP Govt Announces 339-Km Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway

Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has green-lit the construction of the 339-Kilometer long Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan motorway.

The approval was given after the CM met lawmakers from that area at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Ajmal Wazir, spokesperson for the government, and Shehryar Afridi, State Minister for States and Frontier Regions told the media that the motorway will connect the region better with the rest of the province. Wazir added that it will start from Chamkani area of Peshawar, pass through Darra Adamkhel, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Tank, and end in DI Khan.

The meeting talked about the arrangement of the 339-kilometer long motorway. There will be 15 interchanges to boost economic opportunities for the regions. He further added that the CM has asked the relevant officials to come up with the locations for the interchanges after talking to the people’s representatives.

Wazir also said that the CM has directed for early completion on the dualization of the Indus Highway. He stressed that both these roads will boost development in the region.

He said that the motorway is a leading project of the government for the region to better facilitate the people.
