It has been an incredible journey for Haris Rauf, who has now made it to the Big Bash League (BBL) after being picked from street cricket by Lahore Qalandars.
The Pakistani fast bowler was awarded the man of the match for decimating the Hobart Hurricanes batsmen with a hostile spell of fast bowling, earning him the first five-wicket haul of his T20 career. It was also the league’s first five-for, making him the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 7 wickets in 2 games.

The 25-year-old fast bowler, who was busy playing grade cricket in Australia before being called up as Dale Steyn’s replacement, lit up the stadium with his fiery pace, disturbing the woodworks at will. He finished the match with figures of 5/27 in his 4 overs to dismiss the opposition for 111 while chasing 164.
However, Rauf will be released from Melbourne Stars’ squad once Dale Steyn becomes fit.

All the heroics in the field and Haris Rauf wasn’t done yet as he gifted the ball to an Indian security guard who had become emotional and hugged him earlier in the day.
Rauf gifted him the ball after the match because the Indian man cried after learning that Rauf had come all the way from Pakistan to play the league.
