Nokia 8.2 Will Be the Company’s Most Affordable 5G Smartphone

The Mobile World Congress event is set to kick off by the end of next month. It is one of the biggest tech events that attract smartphone makers and other electronics producers worldwide.

For the past two years, HMD Global has been regularly unveiling new Nokia phones at this event and this year will not be different. The Finnish smartphone maker is planning to announce the Nokia 1.3, Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 8.2 5G, but the names for these devices have not been finalized yet.

Rumors suggest that the Nokia 8.2 will only come with a Snapdragon 765 powered 5G variant, it is also rumored that the 4G model has been canceled entirely. It should have 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space and another beefed-up variant with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Previous reports suggested that it will have a curved screen but newer reports claim otherwise. It is unclear whether it will have an LCD or an OLED panel.

It is expected to feature a circular primary camera setup housing a 64-megapixel main sensor and a 32-megapixel front-facing sensor.

The base model for the Nokia 8.2 5G should cost ~$500, but we won’t know for sure until the MWC starts next month.
