PSL 2020 Matches in Rawalpindi Likely to be Disturbed Due to Inclement Weather

Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches on Friday and Saturday at Rawalpindi are likely to be disturbed as rain and wind-thunderstorms are predicted in the country from Thursday to Saturday.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Tuesday that a westerly weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening and likely to persist till Saturday. Under the influence of this weather system, the weather in different provinces will be as follows:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rain and wind-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills are expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Kuram and Kohat from Thursday to Saturday and from Thursday (evening) to Friday in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan.

Punjab

Wind-thunderstorm with rain is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sahiwal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi-Bahuddin, Gujrat, Sialkot from Friday to Saturday.

Rain with duststorms is also likely in D.G Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar on Friday.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain with wind-thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Thursday (evening) to Saturday.

Balochistan

Wind-thunderstorm rain is expected in Quetta, Pashin, Zhob, Chaman, Qila Saifullah, and Qila Abdullah between Thursday and Friday morning.

Sindh

Dry weather is expected in the province, however, dust raising winds are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, and Larkana.

Rawalpindi is set to host PSL matches for the first time ever, and the first match is on Thursday, 27th February between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. On Friday, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi will face each other whereas, Islamabad United vs Peshawar Zalmi is scheduled for Saturday evening.
