Samsung is Going to Launch its Cheapest 5G Phone Yet

Samsung has been working on adding 5G support to its mid-range Smartphones for a while. Although the company’s most popular 5G smartphone is the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series, the 5G-enabled Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 follow right behind offering upper mid-range options for buyers.

Now, according to rumors, Samsung is now planning to launch its most affordable 5G smartphone yet.

According to Sam Mobile, Samsung has started the development of a smartphone with model number SM-A426B. Based on the tech giant’s model number convention, this smartphone is most probably the Samsung Galaxy A41 successor, which will be a part of the 2021 Galaxy A-series.

Although details are scarce, the smartphone is likely to be powered by one of MediaTek’s new Dimensity chips like its predecessor with 128 GB storage. According to rumors, the smartphone will pack the MediaTek Dimensity 800 unless MediaTek announces a more affordable “lower” 5G chip in the next few months.

Other than this, Sam Mobile has detailed that the company will launch a cheaper 4G-only version of the smartphone as well. More and more OEMs are doing this since many nations around the world still don’t have the basic infrastructure for 5G.
