PCB Slams BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Irresponsible Remarks Over Asia Cup

In response to the claims of Asia Cup’s cancelation made by the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a strong statement.

PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, has said that Ganguly’s statement has no impact on the proceedings and the fate of the Asia Cup is yet to be decided by the Asian Cricket Council.

The statements made by Sourav Ganguly regarding the cancellation of the Asia Cup have no impact on proceedings. Even if he passes comments every week, they do not hold weight or merit.

“The decision regarding the Asia Cup will be taken by the ACC. The announcement can only be made by the president of the Asian body Nazmul Hasan. To the best of our knowledge, the schedule of the next ACC meeting is yet to be announced”, Mani further commented.

Mani said that the ACC is still in talks with the PCB regarding the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup which is under threat due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are still waiting for the Asian Cricket Council to come back to us regarding the Asia Cup. They are making inquiries about certain things. Maybe, Sourav Ganguly knows something I don’t know. But we have not heard anything from the ACC.

Ganguly had earlier said that the Asia Cup has been canceled.

In December, we have the first full series. Asia Cup 2020 has been called-off which was scheduled to take place in September. Asia Cup 2020 has been canceled.

Not just this, last year, the former Indian captain said that Asia Cup will not be held in Pakistan because the Indian team will not travel to the neighboring country due to political constraints.
