This new alert came after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) downgraded Pakistan to category two, saying that Pakistani carriers are not up to international standards.

The FAA’s action followed the issue of dubious licenses. The Aviation Minister, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, announced on the floor of the Parliament that 262 pilots have dubious licenses and that all of them have been grounded until further investigations.

The inquiry which was initiated in February 2019 showed that 262 pilots did not give the exam themselves and asked someone else to appear on their behalf.
