Al-Haj FAW Bumps Up the Prices of All Vehicles

Al-Haj FAW has revised the prices for 3 of its most selling cars, i.e. the V2, the XP-V Van and the Carrier pickup.

The price of the FAW V2 has reportedly gone up by Rs. 35,000, bringing its price up to Rs. 1,609,000, as compared to its last price, that was Rs. 1,574,000. As per the notification, the prices have taken effect as of September 1st, 2020.

As for the other cars, the XP-V is now priced at Rs. 1,244,000 in base trim, Rs. 1,304,000 with Dual A/C, and Rs. 1,344,000 with Dual A/C and power edition trim.

Whereas the Carrier standard pickup, Flatbed pickup and the Deckless variant, are priced at Rs. 1,024,000, Rs. 1,014,000 and Rs. 1,004,000 respectively.

However, despite the price bump, FAW V2, in particular, is still the cheapest car in its segment, and the cheapest 1300 cc brand new car being offered in Pakistan at the moment. The V2’s only direct competitor in the market is the Suzuki Swift, a car that is quite similar to the V2 for the most part, but is still massively expensive in comparison.

The interior quality of FAW V2 is not tremendous, but the car has all the basic features that you expect at the price point, i.e. power windows, power steering, digital odometer, a decent A/C, front disc brakes w/ABS technology, the driver & passenger side airbags as standard etc.

Sure, it is missing a few features that are still unfortunately considered in Pakistan as luxuries such as an infotainment system and various driver aids, but so are other vehicles that are hugely more expensive than the V2. As a budget family vehicle, V2 is still a great value for money.

Last time, the prices were revised by Al-Haj FAW back in October of 2019, and all while other automakers have been introducing multiple price bumps in the wake of Coronavirus and depreciating local currency, FAW remained silent. Plus, even after the price revision, the new prices of its vehicles are not stupendously high, unlike other automakers. All of these points should play in FAW’s favor.
