Apple is Launching The 6.1″ iPhone Before The 5.4″ and 6.7″ Max Models

Two of the four iPhone 12s will start shipping before the rest, Digitimes reported on Monday citing inside information based on the time frames of PCB shipments. This rumor has been going around for a while that some of the new iPhones will ship before the rest and several sources such as Bloomberg have corroborated this speculation.

The two 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will launch first, 5.4'' and 6.7'' to follow

According to the information received through PCB suppliers, the two 6.1-inch iPhones (the Pro and non-Pro variants) will make it in time. This is because their components started shipping back in July, while the parts for 5.4-inch and the 6.7-inch iPhones did not start shipping until late August. This will cause more than a month’s delay between the shipments for the iPhone 12 series.

Some reports mention that the cheaper versions of the 6.1-inch and the 5.4-inch models will arrive earlier, but newer information suggests otherwise. Apple will have to release at least one of its high-end models before the others to maximize revenue and profit and the new report from Digitimes confirms this theory as well.

The new iPhone 12 series is expected to be cheaper than any other iPhone released before. Apple is rumored to launch 4G only models earlier while 5G versions will arrive later.
