Sindh Government Withdraws Route-Permit Penalties on Private Transporters

With the intent of offering relief to private transporters who had to bear terrible losses due to COVID-19 induced lockdowns, Sindh Government’s transport division has withdrawn the penalty on the route-permit fee. The development took place in a bid to assist the struggling transport sector and reestablish some of the lost momentum caused by the lockdown restrictions.

As per the reports, the transporters shall be absolved of the penalties imposed on a quarterly basis between April to June. Furthermore, for those who’ve already paid the fees, they can approach the finance department to reclaim their amount.

Apart from the route permit fee, the department has withdrawn all fees on the ‘Motor Vehicle Fitness Certificate’ as well for the aforementioned time period.
