iPhone 12 Will Be Announced in October: Rumors

At its keynote event yesterday, Apple had a lot of hardware to announce, including the new Apple Watch Series 6 and the new iPad Air. However, to our disappointment, the event did not cover anything related to iPhone 12 since that is what most of us were waiting for.

Apple is usually very strict about launching the yearly iPhone series in September. Moreover, Cupertino makes sure not to acknowledge any of its products before launch. However, in the wake of the ongoing pandemic, things have been different this time.

Apple did not reveal the launch date for the upcoming iPhone series, but it did confirm that the series would be delayed in its earnings call. Hence, the company will probably miss the September release window, but it is a significant change for unprecedented times.

Apple CFO Luca Maestri clarified,

As you know, last year we started selling iPhones in late September. This year, we expect supply to be available a few weeks later.

As far as the iPhone 12’s specifications are concerned, rumors suggest that the improved 120 Hz refresh rate display will not make the cut this year. Apart from this, there will be a maxed-out 5G compatible variant as well as a relatively affordable 4G variant, the new A14 chip, improved cameras & hopefully a larger battery. More details will be revealed at the launch event since rumors circling Apple products are usually scarce.
