Global smartphone brand vivo reportedly has a new selfie camera feature up its sleeve. From what we have heard, vivo is all set to launch a smartphone that they are billing as “industry-leading, powerful and innovative Eye Autofocus feature”.
This new addition to the V series is the Vivo V20, and below is how it will change the way we do selfies.
What does the Eye Autofocus feature do?
It’s worth mentioning that a few years ago, Eye Autofocus was introduced in advanced Sony Cameras where AF works in continuous servo mode which takes the feature from useful to tremendously powerful.
Not only does Eye Autofocus find the eye to establish focus, but it holds the eye as the camera and subject move.
Normally Smartphones have the AF cameras on the rear but the selfie camera is fixed focus, which means that it can only focus up to a certain range and may not track the focus as the person moves.
As a result most of the smartphones can take good selfies of a single person, but if there are more people and they are moving or the subject is a little far from the camera, the selfies come out blurred and the results are below par even for many expensive smartphones.
The 44MP Selfie Camera on vivo V20 with Eye Autofocus solves this issue and works on a similar mechanism as offered by the DSLR.
It can focus sharply from 15cm and zoom out to infinity. Whether you’re shooting up close, with the help of a selfie stick, or from even greater distances, you’ll always remain in focus and even if there are 5-6 people in a photo they will all be in focus.
With V20, vivo is appealing to the ambitious youth looking for immersive experiences in everyday photography and also see the phone as a statement of their style and personality.
Giving more power to content creators on the social media platform vivo V20 also features some other exciting new features such as 240FPs slo-mo selfie video, video stabilization for selfie videos, 4k recording in front camera and dual view videos, which captures video from both front and back cameras at the same time.
vivo also claims that the multiple exposures and noise cancellation algorithm can bring on more facial details, helping your beauty defy the darkness. Aura Screen Light provides perfect color temperature and more natural skin tones by automatically adjusting to ambient light.
The vivo V20 Series is expected to launch in Pakistan in the mid of October, there’s no word on the pricing and availability yet, however keeping the historic data in mind – the V20 could be priced around Rs. 60,000 in the market.
