KP & Sindh Take Opposite Decisions on Entry Test Cancelation for Medical Students

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has canceled the ETEA entrance tests for Khyber Medical University and its allied colleges.

The Higher Education, Archives, and Libraries Department of the KP government issued a notification on Wednesday, saying that the tests scheduled on October 18 have been canceled under Section 18 of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

The Medical and Dental Colleges admission tests will be conducted by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) for the students seeking admission across the country.

Sindh Goes On With Tests

However, the government of Sindh, ignoring the newly enacted PMC Act, 2020, has decided to go on with the tests as planned.

The government announced that the entrance test for medical colleges across the province will be conducted on October 18 for the 2020-2021 session.

The tests will begin at 10 am and be held at six colleges in the province.

Following are the venues for the tests:

Karachi: NED University of Engineering and Technology.

Hyderabad: Public School Hyderabad, Latifabad.

Larkana: Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU).

Mirpurkhas: Muhammad Medical College.

Nawabshah: Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences (PUMHS).

Thousands of students sit for the exams each year for admission to medical colleges in the province.

The University of Health Sciences is responsible for conducting MDCAT tests across the country.
