In December last year, Xiaomi unveiled a toned-down model of its Mi Watch dubbed the Mi Watch Color. Now, the company has launched a sports edition of the same watch with a few hardware tweaks.
Design and Display
The Mi Watch Color sports edition comes with the same design profile as the vanilla Mi Watch color. It is built around a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display with support for an Always-on mode. The smartwatch comes loaded with 120 watch faces as well.
One of the main differences between the vanilla Mi Watch Color and the Sports Edition is that the latter features the latest version of the SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen detection. Moreover, it comes with support for 117 sports mode to track fitness and health-related activities.
Apart from these new features, the smartwatch also sports basic sensors and features like an ultra-wide-range heart rate sensor, high-end GPS chip to track movements, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC for connectivity.
Battery and Pricing
The device is powered by a 420mAh battery that, according to the company, can provide 16 days of usage on a single charge. It is available for pre-order at a $97 price tag, and after the early bird period, it will retail for $105. Shipping starts on 1st November 2020.
