Nokia Offers Fastest Updates And Best Build Quality in Android Phones: Counterpoint Reasearch

Counterpoint Research has published its “Trust Rankings” report for Smartphone makers, based on security updates, up to date software, build quality, and devices recommended to enterprises. HMD Global’s Nokia brand topped this ranking, followed by OnePlus and Samsung.

Nokia made it to the top of the list thanks to timely OS and security updates as well as a build quality that is typically ahead of the competition. Once again, nearly all of Nokia’s handsets are currently running Android 10 just like last year. OnePlus was ranked right behind Nokia with 7 of its devices updated while Nokia had 20.

Samsung was the third name in the top 3 with 89% of its eligible Galaxy devices updated to the latest software. Then came Realme in fourth place with 73% of its devices running Android 10. Realme was followed close behind by Xiaomi and Huawei.

Nokia also had the most handsets which were recommended for enterprise use and this is because all of its devices were receiving security updates every month. OnePlus showed solid performance in this regard as well with 90% of its devices getting security updates every month.

Samsung and Huawei only had 22% and 29% of their devices getting monthly updates, meaning that these phones were getting updates on a quarterly schedule instead. Realme and Xioami did much better in this case with 70% of their phones receiving monthly updates.
