Punjab Education Minister Busts Fake Account, Clarifies Reports on Winter Vacation

Punjab’s Education Minister, Murad Raas, has clarified the spurious media reports regarding the closure of schools in the province from next week.

Responding to a tweet from a fake Twitter account and screenshots of a local TV channel, suggesting that the schools are closing from November 15, Raas labeled them as plain liars.

ANNOUNCEMENT:  The following FAKE Tweet and certain FAKE MEDIA are just plain LIARS. The Schools are NOT closing. NO decision has been made or announced with regards to closing.

The Education Minister said that schools are open and running as scheduled and requested the public not to pay heed to such fake reports.

However, the federal government has called a meeting of provincial educational ministers on Thursday to review the pandemic situation and decide the future course of action. The meeting will also consider other important matters, such as the possibility of school closure, early winter vacations, and the length of the ongoing academic session.
