Babar Azam is Racing Towards Another T20I Record

Babar Azam continued his brilliant form with yet another half-century in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. The cricketer is likely to regain his top spot as the best T20I batsman in the world, however, he will need to perform with the bat once again in the third T20I.

Babar scored two half-centuries in the first two T20 internationals against Zimbabwe, which propelled him into the top five of the most T20 internationals half-centuries with 16 fifties to his name. However, he needs to maintain his streak with more half-centuries to surpass the Irish batsman, Paul Stirling, and Australian star, David Warner to jump to the third spot.

Babar Azam has taken 43 matches to reach 16 half-centuries, while the Indian batsman, Virat Kohli, has scored 24 half-centuries in 82 matches, which is almost double the number of matches.

On one hand, Azam’s average of 50.93 is the highest among the top five batsmen with the most half-centuries and is closely followed by Kohli who has an average of 50.80. On the other hand, his strike rate of 130.00 is at the bottom of the list while David Warner has the highest strike rate of 139.72.

Babar Azam will be looking to overtake David Warner and Paul Stirling in Pakistan’s upcoming series against New Zealand and South Africa.
