Brand New 11th Generation Honda Civic 2022 Finally Revealed

After days of anticipating and watching the imaginative renderings released by fellow enthusiasts, car aficionados have welcomed the 11th-generation Honda Civic prototype’s global debut.

Defying modern trends, the Civic has reportedly retained its body measurements from the previous generation and has not increased an inch in size.

The latest-generation Civic is reportedly set to arrive late in the spring of 2021 and will be available as both a sedan and a hatchback as the coupe is no longer being made. As per reports, it will also be launched in the famous and endearing Si and Type-R versions late next year.

Design

The first and most noticeable difference is the completely revamped design and look. Fortunately, Honda seems to have heeded critics’ reviews about the cartoonish looks of the 10th-generation Civic and has opted for a sophisticated aesthetic for the latest Civic.

The front end looks mature and more aggressive than the previous version with a huge bumper grille in the center and a sleek main grille between the headlights. The newly-designed headlights have sharp DRLs that look like the eyebrows of an angry person. Adding to the menacing front look is the elongated and straightened-out hood design that adds to the sophistication of the car, particularly in the sedan version.

The side profile is also a lot more interesting, with smooth and simple lines that run across the length of the vehicle. A more distinctive feature on the side is the new 19-inch matte-black rim design which is much more attractive and sportier than those of any of the previous generations’. The wheels, however, are only available in the sporty trims.

The rear end is where the ‘European design influence’ shines through as it resembles a certain German sedan, which is a good attribute. The angular and sharp taillights, the straightened-out boot-lid, reflectors high up on the bumper, the central trim down below, and the dual oval exhaust tips, in particular, make the car look like a Japanese take on an Audi sedan.

Interior

Honda also seems to have taken into account the reviews about the previous versions because it has considerably improved its design for the interior of the 11th-generation version.

For now, Honda has only revealed the animated image of the interior, which shows a cleaner and simpler design of the dashboard. The black interior ties together nicely with the silver trim pieces at various points in the cabin to give the car a premium feel. However, since it is not a real design image, there are likely that there will be changes in the interior of the physical version.

Although not many details about the features are currently available, the images reveal that the vehicle has a rather large, 9-inch top-mounted infotainment screen that, in the real version, will feature Apple carplay and android auto.

Furthermore, the Civic will have a fully digital gauge cluster and more airbags than the last generation version had. There are three knobs in the center that are supposedly for climate control. No other features can be observed yet.

The powertrains and the pricing of the vehicle will reportedly be revealed close to the launch of the car in 2021. However, Honda’s spokesperson said that the underpinnings of the car, which is essentially its platform, has been evolved from the previous generation, which means that it will have the same agile performance that everyone expects from the Civic.

He added, that the new Civic will incorporate more convenience, safety features, and more highly-advanced tech architecture as the standard.

Although, there are no reports about the car being introduced in Pakistan anytime soon, the Civic is usually introduced here about a year after it is launched in the international market. Whether or not this will be the case for the 11th-generation Civic, is yet to be seen.
