Pak Navy’s Capacity Building Can Support Pakistan’s Economic Growth as Well: PM Imran

Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the professionalism and operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy. He also expressed complete confidence in the preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in safeguarding the country’s sea frontiers.

The PM made these remarks during his visit to the Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.

He also acknowledged the Pakistan Navy’s contribution towards regional maritime security by contributing to international efforts and taking their initiatives. Prime Minister showed his satisfaction on steps taken to ensure the security of Pakistan’s coast, Gwadar Port, and maritime-related projects of CPEC.


Pakistan Navy To Lead Multinational Anti-Piracy Task Force

Upon arrival Prime Minister was welcomed by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, and was presented the Guard of Honor.

He laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada monument and was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers at Naval Headquarters.

PM Imran Khan further assured full support of the government for capacity building of the Navy to meet the evolving challenges in the maritime domain. He added that the government fully realizes the importance of the maritime sector and its immense economic potential, which can be utilized for the prosperity of the country.

In the same spirit, the government’s vision of declaring 2020 as the ‘Year of Blue Economy’ was to set the strategic direction for spurring the growth of the maritime sector.

Earlier, Prime Minister along with the Minister for Defense, Finance & Maritime Affairs, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on NSD & SPP, and Secretaries Defense, Finance, Foreign and Maritime Affairs were given a detailed briefing on maritime security challenges and Pakistan Navy’s perspective on the development of the maritime sector.


Pakistan Navy Inducts Advanced Warfare Capable PNS Tabuk to Its Fleet

The Naval Chief thanked Prime Minister for his visit and reposing confidence in the Navy. He also assured that Pakistan Navy, with the help of Allah SWT, will continue to defend the country’s sea frontiers and maritime interests and shoulder the responsibilities with honor both during peace and war.
