Several Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) domestic and international flights were disrupted on Monday due to the foggy weather across the country and Punjab in particular.
Flight operations at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore were disturbed by the unfavorable flying conditions. At least four flights were canceled and ten were delayed both due to dense fog and technical issues.
The spokesperson for the PIA, Abdullah Hafeez, said that heavy fog at several national airports had affected their flight operations and that they will be resumed when visibility improves.
Hafeez made special mention of international flights whose schedules had been hindered. These include PIA’s Sharjah-bound flight PK-210 from Lahore operated from Sialkot after hours of delay, and its Muscat-bound flight from Lahore operated at midnight.
The PIA flight PK-9747 from Lahore to Medina was also delayed by seven hours, and the Medina-bound flight PK-9715 from Multan operated five hours after the original schedule due to visibility issues.
Likewise, PIA’s flights from Medina to Multan and Lahore were delayed by seven and six hours respectively, and several other flights from Dubai to Lahore were also delayed.
