Amazon’s Cloud Gaming Service is Now Available on Android Phones

Ever since it first launched, Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service has been limited to the company’s Fire TV service, Windows, Mac, and iOS, leaving Android users in the dark. That is about to change soon as Amazon has finally added Android to its list of compatible devices.

However, keep in mind that you will need to meet a few system requirements to be able to use Luna and also have one of the compatible devices. At the time of writing, Luna is compatible with a total of 21 Android phones including Pixel, OnePlus, and Samsung Galaxy phones. More will be added later on.

Here is the list of devices currently compatible with Amazon Luna.

  • Pixel 4XL, 4a, 4a 5G, 5
  • Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, Note 10, Note 10+, S20 5G, S20+ 5G, S20 Ultra 5G, Note 20
  • OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7 Pro 5G, 8, 8 Pro, Nord, 7T, 7T Pro, 7T Pro 5G

Some new devices including the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Note 20 Ultra are not supported.

Users will have to be running Android 9 or higher with an internet connection of at least 10Mbps. You will also need to have Chrome version 86 or newer installed on the device. Keep in mind that it is not a native Android app and is a progressive web application (PWA) instead. It is unclear whether this will ever change.

The official subscription fee is $6, but this may differ in different regions.
