KP Govt to Trace Passengers from UK to Prevent Cases of Mutated Virus

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has begun a search for at least 101 passengers who arrived in the province from the UK soon after the emergence of the new and more dangerous strain of the coronavirus in Britain.

According to a report by the provincial health department, after being found, the passengers will be administered coronavirus tests, following which those who test positive will be quarantined.

A Health Department official said, “We will test these people after tracing them”.

The authorities have sent letters to deputy commissioners with the names of the passengers who returned to 12 districts of KP including Mardan, Abbottabad, Swat, and Nowshera.

The provincial government has been searching for them after receiving their details from the federal government.
