Lebanese Company to Develop Master Plan 2050 for Lahore

The Lebanese company, Darul Handsa, has been selected to develop the ‘Master Plan 2050 for Lahore’ following the evaluation of technical proposals by three companies.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director-General, Ahmed Aziz Tarar, chaired a meeting of the consultant selection committee for the preparation of a new master plan for the provincial capital in which a financial bid of Rs. 520 million for the qualifying company was opened.

According to the Director-General, the preparation of the new master plan in a transparent manner is of top priority as it will determine the future course of the development of Lahore.

Additionally, experts and relevant stakeholders have been consulted for the definition of the Terms of Reference (TOR).

The LDA Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Muhammad Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, the Director Metropolitan Planning Faisal Qureshi, Water Specialist Muhammad Riaz, Chairman City and the Regional Planning Department Engineering University Lahore Dr. Shakir, the representatives of the Planning & Development Department and theFinance Department, TOR Committee members Engineer Akbar and Kami, and the representatives of the three international companies – Darul Handsa from Lebanon, Mine Heart from Singapore, and Nespak from Pakistan – also attended the meeting.
