Kamran Akmal Accuses Central Punjab of Discrimination Against Senior Players

Wicket-keeper batsman, Kamran Akmal, is upset with the team management of Central Punjab for not including him in the team despite recovering from an injury. Kamran has approached Chairman PCB, Ehsan Mani, and CEO, Wasim Khan, regarding the matter but has yet to receive a response.

Akmal said that Central Punjab Coach, Shahid Anwar, refused to include him in the line-up, although he has recovered from injury and is one hundred percent fit. He said that this is not the first time Anwar has behaved in such a way with a senior player. Akmal also approached the manager of Central Punjab regarding the matter.

Defending champions, Central Punjab, made a remarkable comeback to book their place in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final, where they fill face table toppers, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hasan Ali-led Central Punjab were at the bottom of the table after five rounds of matches. They managed to pull off a magnificent comeback by winning four of the remaining five matches to make it to the final.

Kamran Akmal played in the first three matches of the competition before being ruled out due to a finger injury. The 38-year old’s performances were below par. He scored only 112 runs at an average of 18.66 in his six innings.

The final between Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will begin on January 1 at National Stadium Karachi.
