Blacklisted Police Officers Reinstated as New CCPO Lahore Takes Charge

The former Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Umar Sheikh’s directive to blacklist over 50 officers in the Lahore Police has been annulled for the lack of a law that permits it under the Police Order 2002.

The officers in question include District Police Officers (DPOs), Inspectors, Superintendent Police officers (SPs), and Muharars.

Some of the officers on the list have an exceptional record and had been blacklisted on the pretext of having relations with the previous government.

Now that Umar Sheikh has been removed from his post, the blacklisted officers will be allowed to resume their designated positions.

Earlier, the government of Punjab had replaced Umar Sheikh as the CCPO with Ghulam Mehmood Dogar who has served as a police officer for 27 years.
