Qualcomm Will Supply its Snapdragon Chips to Honor

In November 2020, the Chinese Smartphone maker Huawei announced the sale of its subsidiary Honor to Shenzhen Zhixin, New Information Technology. Prior to its acquisition, Honor was not able to make deals with Qualcomm due to the sanctions imposed on its parent company.

However, according to recent reports, the company is now working on organizing its supply chain. Only recently it was confirmed that Honor is in talks with Qualcomm. Reportedly, the talks were fruitful and the two companies have reached an agreement where Qualcomm will supply chips for Honor’s upcoming smartphones.

Since Honor is no longer a part of Huawei the restrictions imposed on the Chinese giant don’t apply to Honor, paving a way for many vendors including Qualcomm to supply components to the company.

Recently, Honor’s new administration revealed that the company is planning to produce over 100 million Smartphones and has already communicated this goal to its suppliers. Moreover, it will be actively competing with its ex-parent company in the market as well.

In other news, Honor is also working on expanding its offline presence in the local market. Over the past few months, the company has set up several new stores in China. Moreover, it is set to launch the Honor Mall, its official online store, next week.
