Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a reminder to all Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises to pay their fees within the given deadline. PCB and PSL franchises have had a strained relationship as the franchises have claimed that PCB has not taken adequate steps to ensure that the franchises do not suffer losses.
PCB has warned the franchises of serious action against them if they fail to pay their fees on time. The deadline for the fee submission is 21 January. If the franchises fail to pay the fee by the deadline, PCB has the right to terminate their contracts.
According to sources, the franchises are likely to pay their fees within the deadline.
Every franchise has suffered massive losses since the inception of PSL. They have made several complaints to the PCB and have asked them to take steps to resolve the issue.
After the matter moved to the court, PCB made an effort to solve the problem by agreeing to develop a new financial model for the franchises. It is rumored that the franchises are waiting for the draft of the new financial model before paying their respective fees. Further developments regarding the matter are expected in the coming week.
