MoITT to Provide Broadband Services to Unserved Areas

Federal Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, informed that as per the directive of the Minister of IT, Syed Amin Ul Haque, measures are underway to provide broadband services to unserved and underserved areas of the country.

He was chairing a meeting on the utilization of the existing fiber cable laid in Pakistan at the Committee Room of the Ministry of IT.

The Secretary IT was briefed regarding the existing fiber cable laid across the country.

Secretary IT opined that the effective use of the existing optical fiber cable could facilitate the people. He emphasized the necessity of striving to uplift the masses.

CEO Universal Service Fund (USF), Haaris Mahmood Chaudhry, was also present in the meeting.

Officers of the Ministry of IT & Telecom, PTA, and Special Communication Organization (SCO) attended the meeting.
