Govt Considering to Allow Limited Crowd Attendance for PSL 2021

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is only a month away, and the preparations are in full swing. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approached the Federal and provincial governments to seek the permission of letting a limited crowd attend the matches in the stadium.

The sixth edition of the PSL is set to commence on 20 February, with the first phase of the tournament set to be held in Karachi, while the second phase, including the play-offs and the final set to be played in Lahore.

PCB has approached the Sindh and Punjab government regarding the matter of spectators in the stadium. According to reports, PCB has asked the governments to allow a total of 14,000 spectators in each match of PSL 6. PCB promises to ensure strict COVID-19 protocols if the crowd is allowed into the stadium.

Earlier, PCB revealed that they would make a full effort for the crowds to be allowed back into the stadium, and PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, said that the game of cricket is nothing without the support of the fans.

Only Australia and New Zealand have held matches with crowds in the stadium after the resumption of cricketing activities around the world. The rest of the countries have not opened gates for the fans yet, with the majority of the matches taking place behind closed doors.
