Sindh High Court (SHC) announced on Thursday that the privatization of K-Electric (KE) is legal, and rejected all constitutional petitions that had opposed its privatization.
The landmark decision came after fifteen years of the filing of a petition by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) Labour Union against the privatization of KE in November 2005.

According to the details, the judgment had been reserved by a two-judge bench of the SHC comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan after they had heard the arguments from both sides in 2017.
