Honor MagicBook 14 And 15 Launched With 11th Gen Intel CPUs

Honor revealed two new laptops at the brand’s Honor V40 5G launch event. Announced as the MagicBook 14 2021 and MagicBook 15 2021 respectively, both variants boast a similar spec-sheet as well as price.

The only observable difference so far is the size.

Despite its not-so-old transition, Huawei’s former subsidiary has taken 2021 by storm, announcing a high-end product range and updated functionality.

In terms of features and specifications, the Honor MagicBooks are powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, topped with NVIDIA’s MX450 GPU. Both variants come with dual-channel 16GB DDR4 RAM, coupled with a standard 512GB PCI NVMe Solid State Drive (SSD).

As the branding suggests, the MagicBook 14 2021 has a 14-inch IPS LCD panel, while the MagicBook 15 variant sports a 15.6-inch IPS LCD unit.

Both displays have identical resolutions of 1920×1080 pixels (FHD), 16:9 aspect ratio, 100% sRGB color gamut, 300 nits peak brightness, DC Dimming, and certified TÜV Rheinland low blue light emission system.

In terms of connectivity, the MagicBooks feature WiFi 6, a single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, 2 USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a 3.55mm headphone jack, and a standard HDMI port.

Miscellaneous features include a pop-up camera sensor in the keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, Multi-Screen Collaboration capability, and a robust metallic build for an exterior.

The Honor MagicBook 14 is supported by a large 56Wh battery, while the MagicBook 15 variant comes with a slightly less appealing 42Wh unit. Overall, both laptops come with a 65W fast charger, details of which will be revealed in recurring reviews.

Price, and availability

The new Honor MagicBooks (2021) are available for pre-orders in China. The price-list for respective variants is as follows:

  • i5-1135G7, 16GB + 512GB – ¥4,899 ($757) [First Sale Special Price: ¥4,699 ($726)]
  • i5-1135G7, 16GB + 512GB, MX450 – ¥5,499 ($849)
  • i7-1165G7, 16GB + 512GB, MX450 – ¥6,399 ($988)

Honor didn’t comment on when these laptops will hit global markets. It’s worth mentioning that the previous models were made available a few weeks after pre-orders concluded.
