FIA Arrests Its Newly-Appointed Officials Over Recruitment Fraud

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested seven of its newly-recruited officials including two sisters for using unfair means, cheating, and fraudulent ways to get themselves appointed into the organization.

The FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle (ACC) had registered two separate cases against the seven officials involved in maneuvering their selection process to get inducted into the department. A senior official confirmed that all seven of them have been arrested.

A press release in this regard was issued late on Tuesday saying that the agency had received multiple complaints about irregularities in the recruitment process of the FIA through Open Testing Service (OTS) on social media.

It maintained that the FIA Director-General took action over these complaints and directed ACC Islamabad to launch an inquiry into the matter. The investigation revealed that the officers in question had secured jobs in the FIA by using unfair means.

The arrested individuals are Shahroom Khan, Tahir Amin, Kainat Mumtaz, Rimsha Mumtaz, Mohammad Azeem, Hamza Saeed, and Hamad Ahmed. They are accused of manipulating the system with the active connivance of OTS staff.

The role of the OTS staff and others will be ascertained during the course of investigations and Sub-Inspector Aoun Abbas has been appointed as the investigating officer for male officers, while Sub-Inspector Memona Kausar will probe the case against the two sisters.
