The S9 is expected to be the next 5G phone from Vivo that will launch as a successor to the Vivo S7 5G. Just like last year’s model, the Vivo S9 5G is also expected to be a selfie oriented phone and a new report claims that it will go official on March 6.
According to the report, the Vivo S9 5G will have a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a wide notch featuring a dual selfie camera setup. This would make it the same display as the Vivo S7 5G. The dual selfie camera is also expected to be the same setup as before, including a 44MP main lens and an 8MP ultrawide sensor.
The leak also says that the Vivo S9 will be the world’s first phone to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 1100 SoC. An earlier leak talking about a Dimensity 1100 phone also mentioned that it will have up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, likely UFS 2.1. It will boot Android 11 out of the box.
There is no word on other specifications as of yet.
Other than that, Vivo is also expected to unveil the Vivo S7t 5G with the Snapdragon 765G soon. It is unclear whether it will launch alongside the Vivo S9 5G.
