Over 30 Illegal Motorcycle Racing Groups Exist in Karachi

An update from Karachi has revealed that there are about 30 groups actively involved in organizing illegal motorbike races at various spots across the city. According to a media report, one of the races took place on Sunday morning between the Super Highway and the Northern Bypass, and the winner received a cash prize of Rs. 30,000.

The report also states that the riders who participate in these races are encouraged to perform dangerous stunts and maneuvers like riding while either standing on or lying across the motorbike, performing wheelies and rash driving.

Rescue officials have reported numerous fatalities in connection with such dangerous and irresponsible events.

In addition to utter disregard for their own safety, these groups are a menace to the public. The authorities have reportedly been trying to curb the situation for some time, but have not had any success.
