Girl from Battagram Sets a New World Record by Breaking 1000 Bricks

Neelofar Shirazi from District Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reportedly set a new record by breaking 1,000 bricks in under 30 minutes in Islamabad.

The video of the feat has been sent to the Guinness Book of World Records for accreditation.

Discussing the ceremony where the record was set, the organizer of the event, Imtiaz Ahmed, commended the girl for her hard work, saying,

She has broken 1,000 bricks. We will send her video to the Guinness Book of World Records and put her name in the brick-breaking category.

Neelofar Shirazi started training for the sport in November 2018 and practiced for two hours a day while living in Islamabad. She broke 150 bricks last year and decided to break more than 1,000 bricks to set a world record.

“All of this would not have been possible without the support of my parents, my coach, Mr. Chen, and my friends,” she said.

A sister to four other siblings who are highly educated and as accomplished as herself, Neelofar is now patiently awaiting word from the Guinness Book of World Records. In the meantime, she is working on a few projects to help younger girls pursue their goals in a male-dominated society.
