FIRs Will Now Be Filed Against Fake Number Plates Instead of Simple Fines – CTO Lahore

The Punjab City Traffic Police has reportedly begun an aggressive crackdown on vehicles with bogus number plates.

As per a statement made by the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, the authorities will no longer fine drivers or owners of vehicles with tinted windows and fake number plates but will issue FIRs against all such vehicles in the region.

The violations that warrant the FIRs include vehicles with dark window tints, vehicles with bogus number plates, and motorcycles with no number plates.

This decision is aimed at curtailing the increasing number of violations of traffic rules all over Pakistan these days. The authorities are of the view that relaxations on this front will enable violation of the traffic rules.
