Motorola’s Upcoming Smartwatch to Come Snapdragon Wear 4100: Leak

Last week, Motorola’s product roadmap surfaced on the internet revealing that a couple of wearables from the company will hit the markets June-onwards. According to the listing, a “Moto G Smartwatch” will be launched in June, while July would see the “Moto Watch” and “Moto One.”

The documentation was accompanied by a few images of a Motorola smartwatch from the back. Soon after, netizens took to Reddit explaining what was written on the outer ring of the watch in the image. After a few visual adjustments, they found that it says “Snapdragon Wear 4100.”

This hints that the watch will most likely be a successor to the Moto 360 launched in 2019 that also comes printed with “Wear 3100” in a different position.

After analyzing the watch, it is clear that the wearable is equipped with GPS, NFC, and a heart rate sensor similar to the Moto 360 smartwatch. It also comes with ATM water-resistance rating but we could not make out whether it is ‘3’ or ‘5’.

Another image on the documentation shows slight tweaks on the crown with vertical grooves. The Moto 360 had curled grooves. Moreover, visible screws are securing the watch straps. The image also has “2020102301” watermarked on it but we don’t know what that means.

However, the device in the images does not appear in the upcoming road map. Maybe it is a follow-up to the Moto 360 and, as an existing product, not deemed to be included in the leaked documentation.

Currently, there is only one Wear 4100 watch on the market, i.e., TicWatch Pro 3, others come with Wear 3100 instead. This will give people more options to choose from if they want the latest in smartwatch tech.
