Apple to Unveil AirTags and New iPads This Month

Notable tipsters John Prosser and “Kang” have revealed that Apple is planning to host a launch event on March 23. This is the same day that OnePlus is set to announce its OnePlus 9 series of phones.

At Apple’s launch event, the tipsters claim that the company will announce the long-awaited AirTags, a fancy tracking system, as well as the next generation of iPads. We may also get to see the third generation AirPods.

For those unaware, AirTags are small tracking tiles with Bluetooth connectivity that can be used to find lost items. There are a handful of other similar products on the market, but AirTags will be closely integrated with Apple’s ecosystem, much like all the rest of its products.

It is believed that AirTags will use the Ultra-Wideband radio introduced with the iPhone 11, which will give you the exact location of your lost items instead of showing an approximate location.

As for the next generation of iPad, we are expecting to see Mini LED displays that have already been deployed on flagship TVs from Samsung, LG, etc. This display technology offers better color accuracy, deeper blacks, better contrast, local dimming zones, and is also cheaper than OLEDs. It should also help improve battery life.

Further, some reports have also said that iPad Pro 2021 will feature the A14 Bionic chip, but it will be as powerful as Apple’s M1 MacBooks.

There is not much information on the third-generation AirPods, but we’ll hear more in the coming weeks.
