Female Traffic Constables Posted for Patrolling Duty in a Historic Move

For the first time in Karachi’s history, women traffic police constables have been deployed for patrolling duty in the city. The move came from Karachi Police Chief, Ghulam Nabi, on International Women’s Day.

Lady traffic constable Somavia was deployed in the traffic zone South while constable Razia was posted in the traffic zone district East as Patrol Motorcyclist Rider.

On this occasion, the Karachi Police Chief presented a bouquet of flowers to the two lady traffic officers and expressed his best wishes. These officers were given special training for field jobs.

The spokesman of the traffic police said that the Police Chief, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has inaugurated a movable office set up by the traffic police East zone in a container under the stadium flyover.

The office on the wheels includes all facilities and necessities. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom, it has a large screen for monitoring with CCTV cameras.
