KP Govt to Include All Organ Transplants in Sehat Card Plus Program

Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan, has said that the provincial government plans to include all kinds of organ transplants in the Sehat Card Plus Program in the next annual budget.

He made these remarks while presiding a meeting in Peshawar on Monday, and added that special focus will be given to the health, education, communication, and drinking water sectors in the next budget.

The CM sought feasibility reports for the formal approval of bifurcation of the health, agriculture, and livestock departments to improve their performances to make them public welfare departments.

It was also announced in the meeting that 836 various developmental projects for the uplift of the general public in the province are in the near completion phase.

Currently, only liver and kidney transplants are allowed under the Sehat Sahulat Program, but the provincial government’s decision to include all kinds of transplants will benefit more patients who are unable to bear the cost of such operations.
