The OnePlus 9 series became official earlier this week including the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and an exclusive device for India called the OnePlus 9R. The 9 Pro appeared at JerryRigEverything’s renowned durability test moments after an official launch and performed remarkably well.

The OnePlus 9 has a glossy glass sandwich build, unlike last year when we saw a matte finish. The new design is a fingerprint magnet but makes no compromises in terms of structural integrity. The OnePlus 9 Pro passed through the bend test like a champion, only showing a slight flex under pressure, but still maintaining its shape and taking no damage whatsoever.

The 10-bit display is able to show over a billion colors on-screen, but it still scratches at a level 6 at Moh’s hardness scale since it’s protected by Gorilla Glass. The fingerprint sensor may be oddly placed near the bottom of the screen, but it works perfectly fine even under deep level 7 scratches.

Another highlight about the screen though, is that it lasts a lot longer under a naked flame from a lighter compared to other phones. We do not, however, recommend burning your phone’s screen to find out.

The rear panel is resistant to light scratches due to its glossy finish.
