Aside from all the major releases at Xiaomi’s event, the company also revealed a high-end projector called the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro. The premium projector brings some serious bang for the buck, being able to project an image of 60” to 120” on a wall with 1300 nits brightness and 1080p resolution.
The focus is handled by a built-in ToF (Time of Flight) sensor which only takes a few seconds to bring the image into focus. The omnidirectional keystone correction allows the projector to keep the image at a proper angle even if it is projected on an angled surface. The projector has two 10W speakers on either side, but you can plug in external speakers through a 3.5mm audio jack.
The smart projector boots Android TV 9.0 which comes with Netflix pre-installed. You can always add other streaming services, but Netflix gets priority with a dedicated button on the remote control and more support. There is 16GB of storage on-board and the processing is handled by the powerful Amlogic T972-H chipset.
You can play media from local sources through an HDMI port, two USB A ports, as well as ARC and AV input. If wires are not your thing, then you can also plug in a Chromecast and display content directly from your phone.
Internet connectivity comes through an Ethernet port and WiFi 5. You can also use Google Assistant to connect with other smart home products.
The Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro will go for sale for €1000.
