The  Minister of Interior, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, has announced the launch of the Rescue 1122 Service, and the deployment of the Eagle Squad and the Tourist Police to improve the security system in the federal capital.

He addressed a news conference on Tuesday and stated the Eagle Squad will be deployed with 200 motorcycles, and that 25 vehicles will be allotted for the Rescue 1122 service. Additionally, the Tourist Police will have 240 personnel deployed at 24 points in Islamabad.

Sheikh Rasheed revealed that an e-challan system is being introduced in Islamabad through which tickets for traffic violators will be delivered directly to their homes. The system had been introduced earlier on a trial basis in various areas of the city.

He also announced the launch of a ‘Smart Car Vigilance’ system in Islamabad, for which 25 smart cars equipped with state-of-the-art features will be acquired.

The minister said that all the police check-posts will be removed from the federal capital after the launch of these security services, and that the services will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He added that the PM will announce the launch of Media City for the journalists on the same day.
