Aaqib Javed Points Out A Big Flaw in Kohli’s Technique That Babar Doesn’t Have

Former fast bowler, Aaqib Javed, believes that Babar Azam is a much better batsman than Virat Kohli, and the Indian captain should improve his technique by studying Babar Azam closely. Javed said that Kohli has a much better range of shots than Babar, but he struggles when it comes to pure batting technique.

He added that Kohli always struggles outside the off-stump, and he needs to work on that area to match the caliber of Babar.

“Virat Kohli has a better range [of shots] as compared to Babar Azam, but he also has one area of weakness. If the ball swings, he tends to get trapped around the off-stump such as against [James] Anderson in England,” said Javed.

Javed said that these two might be the best batsmen in the world today, but they also have some flaws. He believes that both can learn a lot from each other to further improve their skills. Javed advised Babar to emulate the fitness of Kohli, while urging Kohli to follow the batting technique of Babar to rectify his off-stump problem.

Javed believes that Babar’s technique is flawless and is one of the best he has ever seen, and compared him to the Indian batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar.

“When you look at Babar, you do not see any weak areas. Just like [Sachin] Tendulkar, who also did not have any weak areas. Babar is technically more safe and sound, but if he follows Kohli’s fitness routine, he will become an even better player,” Javed added

In the latest ICC rankings update, expected to be announced on Wednesday, Babar will surpass Kohli and become the new number one ODI batsman in the world, ending Kohli’s reign at the top of the rankings after three years.
