Islamic University is Launching Online Degrees

The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) is planning an online education-based system and the introduction of online degrees.

While inaugurating the digital studio and the refurbished conference room at the Iqbal International Institute of Research and Dialogue (IRD), the Rector of the IIUI, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, and its President, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, stated that the university will use the latest technological developments to provide quality education to students.

“The coronavirus pandemic gave us a challenge and we responded to it well. Now, we are set to introduce online degrees,” the rector said.

The rector remarked that in this modern age, the digital studio is essential for every faculty to enable them in the effective dissemination of messages to students.

He hailed the efforts of the President of the IIUI in ensuring quality online education and hoped that the IIUI would soon have an international repute for its open and distance learning (ODL).

Dr. Alotaibi also announced the launch of diploma and degree programs through the IIUI’s Directorate of Distance Education.

“These are the high times when we may reach to the maximum people across the world and we may introduce our best faculty and researchers with the top institutions,” he said.

Vice President (AF&P) Dr. NB Jumani also spoke on the occasion and said that the university is moving towards an online education-based system and is also mulling over a blended mode of learning.
