Punjab Transport Department (PTD) has decided to construct 200 new bus stops in Lahore.
In this regard, PTD has already forwarded the summary for the allocation of funds for the project in the next fiscal year to the provincial cabinet committee on finance.
Earlier, the finance committee had approved PTD’s summary seeking a supplementary grant of Rs. 77 million for the maintenance and repair of dilapidated bus stops in Lahore.
Besides allocating funds for revamping existing bus stops, the finance committee also allowed Lahore Transport Company (LTC) to build its eight-story office that will stretch over 3 kanals and 16 marlas in Green Town Lahore.
Last month, PTD also notified the change in the annual route permit fees for public and commercial transport vehicles.
Punjab government increased the annual route permit fees between 40 to 400% for different categories of public and commercial transport vehicles.
